Risky situation-ex is my best guy friend?

Ok so i met this guy 5months ago,and we dated for 2 months,but we met on a website but we never got to meet up wich is sad,he lives a few towns over and he is obiously in a different school, recently i got texting and he texts me everyday,for my birthday he texted me in the morning saying "good morning birthday girl" and my friends told me that he was gonna call me,and that he was gonna talk to me and say a really heartfelt birthday (i read the txt he sent my friend) but he wanted to facetime me but i chickened out and said "no sorry im really tired" so there went my birthday thing. So later while talking i brought up my neighbor who btw is adorable,but he isnt intrested in anything else other then kissing,so it didnt work out, so my ex goes "so tell me about ur neighbor" so yah... So then i asked him if there was anyone that he was intrested in and he didnt want to give me anyd details but he did tell me her name, Gianna but idk if he still likes her, i kno that he liked her before we went out,but idk if he only said it to make me jelous or something cuz this was after i brought up my neighbor guy.So now his friend is dating my friend wich for me is awkward... Anyways yesterday while we were txting i said "so do you have any questions for me?" cuz i was tryjng to make a. Knversation, and he said "uggh i cant believe im saying this but tell me hows it going with your neighbor dude,the one u said was cute,ughh this is awkward for me" so i was like lol he"s fine and stuff. Well also a few weeks ago i told him i still liked him and stuff and that i wanted to truly get over him and to stop texting ke,and he said "well when can i text u?" and i wasnt really sure cuz whn we dated the only thing we did was talk and all we do now is talk and it brings back memories for me,he also said "well i dont get whats wrong with..." i kno what he ment but he didnt put it in he ment "i dknt get whats wrong with uliking me" ugghr this is confusing.i have a soft spot for him <3
